Learn how to build the next cutting-edge process control app with Johnathan Hottell.

Johnathan Hottell is currently the SCADA Supervisor at EXCO Resources, Inc. He has a background in electronics and has spent over 15 years in Oil and Gas Automation. Duties in the industry have ranged from automating well sites, building and maintaining communication infrastructure, and building SCADA Host systems. The last 8 years of his career have been dedicated to building dynamic SCADA host systems for upstream and midstream Oil and Gas companies using platforms like Wonderware, ClearSCADA, and Ignition.

Jonathan will lead self-paced Labs, with help as needed. Advanced Students can quickly go through and build their own apps integrated with FreeWave products, provided on premises.

Agenda:

8-9 AM: Light Breakfast and Networking
9-10 AM:  Node-RED and Zum IQ overview.
10-11 AM: Deeper dive into Node-Red Use Cases, we look at examples of apps built by FreeWave Engineers and Johnathan.
11 AM- 12:30: Break for Lunch (Provided)
12:30 – 4 PM: Review Node-RED, and use cases. Instructor-led Node-RED Installation, discussion, and self-paced labs, with instructor oversight and help as needed. Advanced Students can quickly go through and build their own apps integrated with FreeWave products.

  • A Laptop computer that you have administrative privileges to.
  • It is suggested that you install the latest Node.JS 6.x, however, we will quickly cover installation in the class.
